How Do You Bring Intrapreneurship to the Family Business?

Jason Frohlich talks about his intrapreneurial ventures and how being in a family business has been helpful.

I’ve wanted to quit and give up many, many times. I’ve had a lot of ups and down. I guess it’s an advantage of having a family member in your business, or someone running the show that’s in the family, because they understand your personality and their able to, kind of motivate you and push you when you want to stop. So that has definitely helped me so much and that sort of relationship has allowed me to kind of bounce back up and to try something else, something different. So I’ve had a few different companies that I’ve incubated, so we’ve incubated the start-up incubator another start-up, so incubated basically two start-ups right now, and I’m focusing on a totally different space than what I originally started doing. We went from language training to health and fitness. And it was a long road, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m pretty sure in the end it will all be worthwhile. But if it isn’t, and if for some reason it doesn’t work out, then at least I’ll know that I tried, and that I was resilient and I think that will even strengthen my relationship with my family members if ever I move onto other projects, outside of the family business.
