Intrapreneurship in Action

The success story of the Faita family and how they used Intrapreneurship to build their empire.

Mother: Everything began in 1954 when our family arrived in Quebec. I was 7 years old. 2 years after we left Italy, my dad, Loui Gee, and my brothers, Jusepe and Antonio, opened the Dante hardware store. I started working at the store when I was 14 years old. The whole family was involved in some way. It was Jusepe who added the hunting and fishing department. The years past, I had my children, Christina and Stefano. After her studies, my daughter wanted to join us. It was her idea to open our cooking school, Mezza Luna. Then Stefano joined the team at the hardware store. Stefano: My entire life, I watched my mother work with passion…it inspired me. Finally, it was my turn to work at our hardware store. It was there that I learned my people skills and good management. I also had my own passion, cooking. One day, José Distasion invited my mom on her cooking show to talk about pizza. Mother: I told her, if you want an expert on pizza, invite my son. Stefano: Not long after, I started publishing books and appeared on multiple TV shows. Eventually, it was time to make my life-long dream a reality. So, I opened a restaurant. Mother: I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but I always supported him. Stefano: I opened Impasto, and Gema a year after. My mom was a huge support. All the knowledge she shared, the time that she gave. Mother: I saw the spirit of an intrapreneur in both Stefano and Christina, just like I see it in my grandchildren.
