Looking to the Future, Not the Past

I think anybody running a business needs to realize that the world is accelerating. Technology disruption is happening at an even faster pace, so if you are just focused on the rear-view mirror, thinking about what’s already happened, and you’re not focussed on what’s going to happen next, you’re going to be left behind. New people are going to come into the market with new ideas, better ideas and it’s not always technology, but technology is certainly an enabler for some of the most disruptive ideas. You have to keep leaning to the future, you have to keep imagining how you can have better products, better services for your current customers and also imagine what new products and services might be created for a whole new set of customers that you don’t even have today.
