Women Rising Up

Listen to Heidi Vermeer-Quist talk about how women’s roles have changed in her family business over the generations.

My grandmother was wonderful, has a huge imprint on our family and our family business as a result as well. But her role was very much the traditional at home, not working in the family business. I don’t know that she even really even encouraged the next generation, or even my generation to be involved in business roles. But my grandfather was. He was very encouraging and in fact, right now, my aunt is the CEO of our company and she’s doing a tremendous job, and she’s a community leader, she leads within government initiatives, she’s just an incredible leader, speaker, inspirer, and does a fantastic job of running the business. So I think we live in a time when you know, women rise up and just contribute.
