You Can Do It All, But Not All At Once (1)

A person’s priorities tend to shift throughout their lives. Listen to Nanon de Gaspe Beaubien-Mattrick describe these priorities as crystal balls and rubber balls.

I think you can do it all, but not all at the same time. And at different points in your life there will be different focuses that will be important. My mom talks a lot about balls and how we have in our life, different balls that areas of priorities, and at different times you’ll have one ball that’s at the top and one ball that’s going down to the bottom. And the key is to know which ones are your crystal balls and which ones are your rubber balls. Never drop a crystal ball, but a rubber ball, that’s ok, it will bounce back. But not the crystal one. So it’s knowing at what point in life which balls are most important. When you’re single, the husband ball doesn’t exist, so you don’t have to worry about that, that would be one of my crystal balls. When you don’t have children, that’s one of the crystal balls, but when you don’t have those, you don’t have to worry about those. So at different points in time, you have different priorities and different balls that are circulating in the air.
